Pilling

Cashmere is oneof the finest natural fibres in the world and is combed from theundercoat of Chinese and Mongolian goats. Knitwear made from thisprecious and delicate fibre is luxurious to wear but requires alittle more care and attention than products made from coarserwools. After wearing a new cashmere garment for the first times youmight find small balls of fibre forming on the surface. These smallballs or "pills" are caused by some of the loose fibre tanglingtogether as areas of your garment are rubbed during wear, This isquite normal. Most common initially is the front on the sides wherethe arms rub the jumper.

The "pilling"is not indicative of inferior quality – it is an inevitableconsequence of the careful processing of this fine fibre. Pills canbe easily removed by hand or by using a cashmere comb sometimesreferred to as “defuzzit” device. The bobbles will decrease overtime if one carefully minds the cashmere knitwear.

The comb can beused to remove pills and fuzz from all woollen garments, includingcashmere.
